Our History
Pioneers then and still leading the way...
Logan Gold Walsh is proud of its heritage.
The firm traces its foundations all the way back to the very early 20th century. David Kennedy Logan (D K Logan - Bruce’s grandfather) practised in partnership with C F Gawith from 1905 until 1927. From 1927 until his death in 1930, D K Logan practised on his own account.
Neville Whiteman took over the practice in 1930, and in 1931 he was joined in partnership by Jack Logan (D K Logan’s eldest son). The firm became known as Logan & Whiteman.
Jack’s son David became a partner in the firm in 1962 and when John Gold joined the firm in 1967 it became known as Logan Whiteman & Gold.
In 1970 the firm merged with Gerald and Jock Blathwayt’s firm Blathwayt & Blathwayt to become Logan Blathwayt & Gold.
In 1973 John Gold started his own practice and remained a sole practitioner until 1987 when he was joined in partnership by Phil Walsh, creating the firm Gold Walsh. Logan Blathwayt & Gold became Logan Blathwayt.
Bruce Logan (David’s cousin) became a partner in Logan Blathwayt in 1976.
At the beginning of 2007 the practice of Gold Walsh merged with the substantive part of Logan Blathwayt to become the present firm, Logan Gold Walsh.
